4-H Summer Entomology Club

Event Description
Through the KY Keepers program with UK and The State Entomologist Office, Martin County 4-H is one again hosting its Summer Entomology Club.
The Club is virtual and will have no required in person obligations. Some optional activities and events will be available.
Objectives:
- Monitor and Track invasive species of insects, plants and wildlife in Kentucky.
- Learn the Environmental disruptions and beneficial aspects of the invasive species.
- Become a KY Keeper using traps to set in the wild for the invasive Spongy Moth and use a phone app or written log of your findings to be distributed to KY State Entomologists for research.
- Record sightings of the Spotted Lantern Fly for KY State Entomologist Research
All participants will receive a certificate from Martin County 4-H and be encouraged to complete and submit a 4-H Project to Kentucky State Fair in August.
